The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY 11 de Diciembre del 2010...

Outside My Window...
A blue sky and a partially frozen crick (creek)

I am thinking...
Of signing my kids up for 4h and girl and boy scouts, I think there are some thing they can learn from these experiences. But It's a thought that needs more research. I am not a fan of peer oriented stuff but lets see.

I am thankful for...
For the warmth of a HOME.

From the learning rooms...
Slow and steady wins the race, is something I need to remind myself.

From the kitchen...
Well, I finally made the bread now I need to clean my kitchen it's due for a big clean. Also I need to sit down and make a list of what we eat and buy to work out how to replace that stuff with local and sustainable. I realized there is still choice between local or organic and your blessed if you find locally organic. But this thing of groceries and or food needs changes anyway so I will see how this will be worked out. But let's see.

I am wearing...
A white t-shirt and my homemade jean skirt which is my favorite item of clothing in my closet right now. LOL

I am creating...
Journal pages, going to make another jean skirt b/c I am wasting this one down. Also I want to make some earrings with cool words.

I am going...
To take a new toy to get checked out, my sister bought me a birthday gift that blows the mind. 3 35mm film cameras with lenses I am so siked I don't know what to do. But one of them is having trouble so I need to take it to get checked out. I hope it's nothing big!!!!

I am reading...
A journal of solitude by May Sarton, Thirst by Mary Oliver, and some fiction book I picked up for 2.00 I rarely read fictions so this is going to be interesting!

I am hoping...
That this week will flow, I have been having a hard time with my winter blues so I am trying to keep busy, although even that is laborsome.

I am hearing...
My daughter listen to a recorded live lesson from her cyberschool. It's math UGHHHH!!

Around the house...
Clean.....up......... It needs some tlc, I made a chore chart last week so I am hoping we will implement it this week or at least start.

One of my favorite things...
Somerset's Art journaling magazine

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week:
A woman's town meeting about healthy food and stuff, I think it's going to be cool.
Finishing my Community Herbalist lesson.
My cousin is coming over Friday for dinner so I need to think about the menu.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...
I took this for the Blog camp 365 project in 2010, I set up the sea shells and wrote the message on the center shell.........

  1. My sons are in cub scouts and I never thought of it as a peer oriented activity. They have learned so my individually and have completed numberous accomplishments.

I'm so happy my oldest son decided to "bridge" from cub scouts to boy scouts.

Just like anything we've gotten out of scouts as much as we've put in. For us, we've emphasized the family and duty to God aspects and have enjoyed the boys being outside and doing the "boy" things like pinewood derby.
